Sonic Greenhouse
Performance, 2025

Sonic Greenhouse is a 5-day workshop of the Ars Sound Art Festival. Through speculative design and interactive sound art, it translates plants into an artistic environment that can be touched and listened to. With touch-based sensors like Playtronica, TouchMe, and Biotron, the workshop focuses on how humans and plants can build new interactive relationships through “touch–feedback–sound.”

During this workshop, we completed a performance titled Ritual: we held a funeral for a wooden door, using plants. From posthuman and plant perspectives, we turned the greenhouse into a temporary ritual site, where touch and sound became a medium of communication, inviting the audience to listen to plant-like time and modes of perception. Through this “funeral,” we aim to reflect on the ecological and relational losses produced by capitalism, and to imagine how the world might reorganize breathing, boundaries, and symbiosis when humans are no longer the center of the narrative.
